Sloane turns 6 months old today. It hardly seems possible. These past 6 months have gone by in a flash and she’s growing up way too fast. I want to snuggle her every minute of every day and eat her yummy toes and thighs. Seriously. Cutest. Baby. Ever.
And she’s already perfecting her ballerina pose.
Ok, Sloane, you’re done. Stay this way forever please.

My 7 year old ran a 5K today (3.2 miles for those of you, like me, who don’t run). The.Whole.Thing. Puts me to shame I tell ya. Side note, he ran only TWICE in the past few weeks to prepare. Every time Josh asked if he wanted to “practice for his race” he’d say no. Practice? Who needs practice when you’re built to run? This kid loves it.
I am SO proud of him! (And to top it off, we immediately got in the car and headed to his baseball game. I wish I had half his energy!)
Here’s the view I had while pushing the stroller:
A brother lovin on his sis. Doesn’t get any better than that.

I once had a high school algebra teacher who would call easy math problems “Stupid Math”. He also regularly compared us to his son, who was in kindergarten at the time, telling us he could for sure do the problems. It was never funny, especially for those of us who struggled in math.
ANYWAY, ya’ll know how frustrated I’ve been with Gavin’s school this year. The “not caring” attitude with a wave of a hand to dismiss the issue. “It’s fine if he doesn’t do the work. Whatever he wants to do….” Blah freakin blah.
So last week Gav brings home THIS sheet for homework:
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? It’s not even real math or measuring!! THERE CAN BE NO WRONG ANSWER!!! Here’s a thought: how ’bout we teach our kids how to measure stuff with a ruler? How about we teach them about centimeters, inches, and feet? How about we stop doing stupid math????
I am beyond fed up with school. To be honest, we are strongly considering homeschooling Gavin next year. The thought does not thrill me at all (gone are the days that I used to play school and always be the teacher), but if THIS kind of crap is what we’re dealing with, then I’m all in.

I’ve been working on a few blogs with substance to them, but until they’re to my liking…..here are some pics I came across that I thought you’d enjoy (sorry most of them are from my phone so they’re very low quality)
Way back we fed the ducks with Aunt Katie and Eisley. Thatcher’s in the picture too (behind Liam 😉 And yes, that’s a gravestone everyone is sitting on. We debated whether it was meant for sitting and enjoying the pond (there are several surrounding the water). So we sat…..
Tate’s first night in his new room and the brothers decided to camp out on the floor. I love how T and G have the exact same expression in this shot.
Sloanie has yet to sleep in her crib (she’s still in the pack and play in our room) but she LOVES playing in it.
